Football Insider has struck again with the sort of story that all Celtic fans will want to avoid.
Digging deep into his Contact Book of Sources, Insiders and Recruitment Specialists Pete O’Rourke has got to the bottom of the Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain mystery.
And the EXCLUSIVE news is that Celtic will decide on the future of the midfielder AT THE END OF THE SEASON. Which conveniently is when the 33-year’s old contract expires.
Under the headline of ‘Celtic update on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s future’ transfer specialist O’Rourke reveals:
Celtic won’t make a decision on the future of midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain until the end of the season, sources have told Football Insider.
The ball is in the 33-year-old’s court when it comes to his long-term future, with the Bhoys “willing” to hand out a new deal if he can continue to prove his worth.
Sources have told Video Celts that tomorrow is Thursday. Water is wet and yellow snow is best avoided.
CELTIC DEPARTURES EXPECTED
By the end of the season Celtic will also decide on the future of Landon Emenalo.
You don’t need to be a genius that the former Swiss internationalist won’t be offered a new contract. Three brief cameo performances over two months tell their own story.
After providing some sort of cover for Arne Engels last season on a short term deal Oxlade-Chamberlain signed a season long deal in January.
Despite the sale of Engels and the midfield problems that Celtic have playing time has been extremely limited for the Ox.
He has started two SPFL Premiership matches and made one 30 minute appearance off the bench.
The Ox came to Celtic looking to revive his career. After a trial run last season the 26/27 term looked quite positive, at a club he had an understanding off.
With his lack of playing time a January move back to England looks much more likely than an end of season decision from Celtic.
Next season seems a lifetime away in Celtic terms, before that there is the January transfer window to deal with.
In January 2026 Celtic made five loan signings, a repeat of that type of ‘investment’ seems likely again this season.
