Hearts fan Nikki Dunn has gone against the tide and owned up to the season 25/26 SPFL title failure.
Backed up by a supportive and unquestioning media the events of last season have been transformed into one of the greatest injustices in sporting history.
Typical of that is Celtic’s stoppage time penalty at Motherwell in the second last match of the season.
Sam Nicholson rose to meet a throw-in with his fist in front of his forehead after putting his elbow into Auston Trusty’s cheek.
If it had happened in the 10th minute of that match little would have been made of it. Or if it had happened in any of the first 30 matches of the season.
Instead, led by Derek McInnes with instant support from Kris Boyd and Ally McCoist that penalty has been transformed into the greatest sporting tragedy of the season.
That was followed by the incredible reaction to Celtic’s third goal in the final match of the season.
Live on BBC radio Pat Nevin made up reports of Lawrence Shankland being assaulted on the pitch.
THE REAL STORY OF HOW HEARTS FAILED TO WIN THE SPFL TITLE
No one dared correct the former hipster as a media whitewash was launched.
Finally, it seems that one Hearts fans has seen through the mist as the build up gets underway to McInnes returning to Tynecastle.
@ClydeSSB You didn’t finish 2nd with a team that had finished bottom 6 ya deluded fud! Was a different squad with far better players and the rotund, devious git who downed tools the previous season on TWO Head Coaches bust a gut knowing he had a clause for the move he desperately wanted.

And there’s more
@AsTrubludru @ClydeSSB The post explains what I’m on about and wouldn’t kiss his hand never mind his arse! He had 11 new signings, had no Europe to contend with and no cup runs. Cheated out of the title? Nothing to do with us dropping 16 points from an available 21 in our last 9 away games of course ?

The big story is how Hearts managed to lose the title to a team that lost eight matches, two against Hearts.
Celtic were a shambles. Undergoing three changes of management on the back of two horrific transfer windows and a Champions League Play Off defeat to Kairat Almaty.
Despite all that Celtic refused to give up.
From January onwards Hearts’ away form gave Celtic encouragement.
Three of their post split fixtures were away from home. They took one point from nine.
Hearts fans watched it with emotional attachment.
BBC Scotland and others just wanted to see Celtic lose.
Hearts fans can put together the pieces over the departures of Derek McInnes and Lawrence Shankland. Especially where they ended up.
Only a fool would think that their exits were first discussed after losing the title at Celtic Park.
Tonight McInnes will face some of his critics at Tynecastle. His Hearts love-in through the media will count for nothing when the team bus turns off Gorgie Road.

Bravo…and very well said Nicki Dunn. If only her club and the majority of it’s fans were like her, they would probably br far more likely to achieve something far more significant than a cup or two every twenty years. Sadly this lady would appear to be one of a tiny minority who thinks straight, ans sees things as they really are. All credit to her.
Well at least one Calvinist speaks the truth !
