Swing and Miss? Bodo Glimt land another knock-out blow to embarrass Ross Desmond
With every passing Champions League night the claims of Ross Desmond become increasingly more ridiculous.
Last November Nepo-Baby warned Celtic fans of their danger of swinging and missing.
He added that the European environment had massively changed since 2004 when Celtic last won a UEFA knock-out tie.
On that point Ross did get something right.
European football is much different. It is now far easier for Celtic to progress in the Champions League as Bodo Glimt prove year on year.
There are no more Groups of Death. You won’t face four matches out of six against Manchester City and Barcelona. Or against Bayern Munich and PSG.
The Champions League has never been friendlier for teams outside of the five richest leagues.
DESMOND JUST DOESN’T UNDERSTAND SOCCER
Clubs such as Bodo Glimt realised that and are taking full advantage of the new look competition.
Celtic faced Bodo in the 2021/22 UEFA Conference League.
Other than one season the two clubs have gone in totally different directions since.
The manager that opened the window of ambition to Celtic was rewarded with Shin Yamada, Hayato Inamura, Sebastian Tounekti and Michel-Ange Balikwisha.
Last season Celtic went through four managerial changes with three different managers taking charge of UEFA matches.
Kjetil Knuttsen has managed Bodo since 2018, since then Celtic have failed in six out of six attempts to qualify for the Champions League,
Since the start of last season, Bodø/Glimt have beaten Inter twice, Man City, Sporting CP, Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League ? https://t.co/gakXmA9BAt

Bodo’s win over Dortmund wasn’t really such a surprise. The previous night Viking had drawn 3-3 at home to Bayern Munich.
This year Celtic have beaten Utrecht in a one off tie while losing on aggregate to Stuttgart and LASK Linz.
Ferencvaros won at Celtic Park in Matchday One of the Europa League.
Desmond hasn’t commented since his infamous address to the 2025 Celtic AGM. It was cut short as Chairman Lawwell ended the AGM after less than an hour. Lawwell resigned soon afterwards.
In around five weeks time Celtic will stage their 2026 AGM.
It wouldn’t be the greatest surprise of Ross joined his father in finding something else to do on that day.

We are a minor inconvenience in Europe now for most competent teams.
Not that we have really achieved the heights since Lisbon but we certainly maintained a reputation, especially at home, for many many years.
A genuine test for some of the best in Europe.
No longer though.
Nope, most will rock up at Celtic Park knowing we are weak and capitulate with ease, just like we do ourselves now.
We all now sit down in the hope we won’t be embarrassed rather than have a chance.
The suits have long since decided that winning the SPL and just an opportunity to add some CL cash is the preferred route, maintaining a healthy bank balance in the process.
Unless they are all removed and replaced with people who understand the modern game, then this is our future.
EMPTY SEATS is the only thing that will work, NAP is a hidden protest that the suits can ride out.
No other form of protest will have the impact of an empty stadium.
Spot on once again bhoy4life,empty seats are the only thing that will make this board have a rethink or sell up.Full stadiums and ST subscriptions tell this board that all is well with the fans and the club.
To extend the golfing metaphor, Nepo Baby and Big Daddy are double bogeys.
They are both shite at golf and know fuck all about football.
I watched the CL highlights last night and the football was a joy to behold.
Celtic is nowhere near that standard, and never will be, until the hackers and their toadies are gone.
Last night showed me why I’m actually now glad that we’re not in it…
We’d be annihilated !
Ross and his two brothers were given a 5 Guys Burgers franchise too manage by the “Billion Dollars Baby”
Daddy was a tad upset when they managed to run the franchise into the ground.
Let us hope we don’t get four Desmond’s for the price of one.
Spot on comment Bhoy4life
Empty Seats=Empty Boardroom
