Gordon Strachan has claimed that Celtic fans have appropriate ways to express their frustrations against Dermot Desmond.
Unfortunately the Dundee Technical Director doesn’t spell out what they are.
So far this season Desmond has attended one competitive match, away to LASK Linz as Celtic crashed out of the Champions League.
Desmond hasn’t attended a Celtic AGM since 2006.
Last year he sent his son Ross to lecture Celtic fans on how they should behave and their expectations.
In mid-flow Chairman Peter Lawwell abandoned the AGM. It had lasted less than an hour including a video presentation and a 30 minute adjournment.
Celtic directors used to attend a quarterly Fans Forum held inside the stadium.
The last Fans Forum was in May 2025, during it Paul Tisdale explained his bespoke recruitment method. In the next few months Celtic signed Hayato Inamura, Shin Yamada, Michel-Ange Balikwisha and Sebastian Tounekti.
Picking up on Strachan’s comments to a gambling website The Sun reports the former Celtic boss saying:
Celtic fans protesting against Dermot Desmond?
There are appropriate ways for supporters to express frustration, but throwing objects or disrupting events crosses the line.
Open communication is essential here.
Both sides need to understand each other’s challenges before constructive discussions can happen.
Crossing into hostile behaviour accomplishes nothing. That’s no way to start any conversation.
Based on 20 or 30 tennis balls Celtic announced that they were cutting off communications with the Celtic Fans Collective. Two meeting had been held in the last 12 months, involving different Celtic employees.
The Green Brigade were named in the 10,07pm Saturday night statement from Celtic as being responsible for the tennis balls protest.
THE STRACHAN FAMILY AND THEIR CELTIC CONNECTION
Until this summer Gavin Strachan was first team coach at Celtic.
Brother Craig, a former Golf Shop Pro is reported to be a Senior Scout at Celtic. Recently Craig deleted his Linkedin profile.
Craig is a UEFA A-qualified coach and is currently a UK and European senior scout for Celtic FC.Â
Craig is a former professional footballer at Coventry City and Scotland Youth International from U-17 to U-21. During this time, he played in two consecutive FA Youth Cup finals. Craig was forced into retirement at 21 due to a persistent back injury.
Craig was a golf professional for over ten years, bringing experience and knowledge of competing and coaching in professional sports.
Gordon managed Celtic for four seasons delivering three SPFL titles and twice reaching the last 16 of the Champions League.
Almost nothing is heard about Craig’s Scouting role at Celtic which has ran for more than a decade under a variety of managers.
John Park, Lee Congerton, Nick Hammond, Mark Lawwell and Tisdale have all retained Strachan while employed in senior Recruitment positions.

I hated Strachan as a player but he did ok as manager at Celtic !
I can remember being in the crowd when wee Gordon played for Aberdeen he was hated by the Celtic fans the chant from the Jungle at Celtic Park and the beach end at Pitodrie was:
Gordon Strachan your a wanker your a wanker (repeated, and repeated)
I was shocked when I first heard he was the manager at CELTIC.
Seems like that young wanker is now just an old wanker.
RULE #1 Any friend of DD&Son is an enemy of Celtic fans and our club.
