The 2027 North American convention will bring the Celtic support together for a week built around the anniversary of the club’s greatest achievement.
Las Vegas is on the calendar for Celtic supporters in June 2027, with the North American Federation of Celtic Supporters Clubs holding its convention from June 6 to 13.
The timing gives the gathering a special significance. Just weeks earlier, on May 25, Celtic will mark 60 years since Billy McNeill lifted the European Cup in Lisbon. The convention offers supporters across North America, and those travelling from further afield, another place to celebrate that team.
The event is based at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. Travel packages already advertise a pool party and Green Night, giving fans some fixed points around which to organise their week.
For supporters separated by thousands of miles during the season, that is the attraction. Watching the same matches from different cities is one thing. Having a week together to sing the songs, renew friendships and argue over Celtic is quite another.
A week together away from the fixture list
North America has its own network of Celtic supporters’ clubs in the United States and Canada. The convention gives that network a meeting place, with fans able to spend time together without fitting everything around a single match.
There is a familiar Celtic holiday tradition here. VideoCelts’ coverage of the supporters’ gathering places in Santa Ponsa shows how a few bars, familiar faces and a shared attachment to the club can become the centre of a trip. In Las Vegas, the convention provides that centre for the week.
For Celtic supporters who enjoy a football bet, Las Vegas offers a chance to discover a different side of gambling. A familiar matchday wager might involve backing the Hoops to win or picking a goalscorer. Away from the fixture list, the city’s casino floors put card tables and roulette wheels within reach alongside its shows and restaurants.
The games offer different experiences. Baccarat centres on backing the player hand, the banker hand or a tie, with the winning hand closest to nine. Roulette involves betting on where the ball will land. Blackjack gives players decisions during the hand: whether to take another card or stand while trying to beat the dealer without going over 21.
For Canadian supporters curious about that last option before travelling, Mummy’s Gold’s online blackjack Canada selection includes classic blackjack and variations on the game. The basic aim carries over to the physical table, although minimum stakes, payouts and house rules can differ. Those details are worth checking before joining a game between convention events.
There is no need to build every day around the same activities. A group can meet for a convention event, split up for an afternoon and come together again in the evening. That flexibility matters when supporters are bringing partners or travelling with friends who want different things from the holiday.
Lisbon gives the gathering its meaning
The anniversary will run through the trip. Celtic’s 2–1 victory over Inter in the 1967 final came through second-half goals from Tommy Gemmell and Stevie Chalmers after the Italian side had taken an early lead. Jock Stein’s players brought the European Cup to Britain for the first time.
Many of those heading to Las Vegas were not alive to see it. They know the team through family stories, old footage and the names that still fill Celtic songs. An anniversary gathering puts those different generations in the same room.
Anyone planning the journey should check which convention events their booking includes, rather than assume a hotel reservation covers the whole programme. Flights, room arrangements and the event schedule need to work together, particularly for groups arriving on different days.
June 6 to 13 gives supporters a week to work with. The 60th anniversary gives them a reason to make the journey. Once the travelling is done, the best part may be the simplest: meeting people who understand exactly why a match played in Lisbon in 1967 still matters so much.
