Craig Bellamy set to be released

|

Craig Bellamy Cardiff City newsManchester City are believed to be ready to release Craig Bellamy and pay up his £80,000/week contract.

Liverpool are favourites to sign the striker who spent last season on loan at Cardiff City.

Celtic have been linked with the Welshman at various times this summer but after last night’s Europa League exit a return to Glasgow seems unlikely.

City have already started to ship out players ahead of naming a 25 man squad for the Premiership season with Emmanuel Adebayor joining Spurs on loan for the season.

Roque Santa Cruz was mentioned in connection with Celtic recently but is expected to sign for Real Betis today.

I’m a great believer in never going back over old ground and wouldn’t bother with Bellamy. We need to build from a solid base and we simply don’t have one…Stevie Wonder could see Dan – Loovens – O’Dea – Thompson aren’t good enough. We got a bonus that Mulgrew is decent cover (Never a left back). We are totally lacking in the striking department, Samaras wouldn’t get a game for Hibs socring record is pathetic.

We have papered over the major cracks which were evident last season, sat on our hands all summer and laughed at our rivals. Time we took our heads out of the sand and see EVERYONE is laughing at us…we are lacking in all area’s from leadership at the very top, management, goalkeeping, defence, midfield & forwards.

Tough decisions have to be made and made NOW !!!

If someone isn’t up to the job, tell them to step aside and get the quality we need in. The only threat from the first game v Sion & should have been tightly marked – managed to stroll the game & score 2 goals…we turned him down when on a bosman.

No problem in making mistakes, as long as we learn from them….we simply are not learning ANYTHING.

We were absolutely amazed that someone would be willing to buy Samaras off us, never mind Celtic! Bad business by both clubs.

Willie you are spot on my friend. But who is going to want to come now we are out of Europe. I do think we have some good players, the problem being we have a rookie manager whose tactics have to be seen to be beleived at times. I actually think Paul Sergio at Hearts is going to improve them tenfold. I was fairly impressed with them last night. We need a Gus Hiddink to take us forwardat European level.

agree we need a total overhaul from boardroom to youth but anyone worth their salt wouldn’t touch us with a ten foot barge pole unless they were just after some easy money like this lot we the fans should have a say in what goes on at the club

  • jebus says:

we need to stop the bellamy obsession he will not come to us because celtic will not pay anyone money!! the board want to hoard it, and unless you are free and want less than 10k per week they aint interested.
