Neil Lennon smilesSt Johnstone boss Steve Lomas believes that Daniel Majstorovic has only himself to blame for the challenge that fractured his cheekbone.

The Celtic defender suffered the injury challenging for a header with David Robertson on the half hour mark and is unlikely to play again until February.

After watching his side lose 2-0 Lomas said: “I haven’t seen it again but I thought the big centre-half knew he was 70-30 in favour.

“It might have just been an honest collision but I wouldn’t bet my house on it.

“Maybe you don’t get those decisions against Celtic.”

Neil Lennon must find another central defensive combination for the crucial period coming up but felt the need to defend Majstorovic.

The Celtic boss said: “The Majstorovic challenge was a perfectly good full-blooded challenge from a centre-half who only had eyes for the ball and he ended up worse off for his own bravery. There was nothing wrong with the challenge at all.

“It looks like a fractured cheekbone and it could be a fractured eye socket as well. It is a big blow because he has been immense for us.

“We will have to wait to see the extent of it but it looked a real sore one. Again, he will be a miss but we have cover.”

Lomas makes some sad and shameful accusations there. Makes it clear which side of the Irish divide he came from. What a very sad little nobody he is. At least he’ll know there will be no repurcussions for such comments from his side of the wall.

Another Irish/ranker just like all of them in scotlande get nothing against them who told him the ref today allowed foul after foul go against us, when we scored he looked across to assistant he just ran half-line then he gives free kick on 18yd line when all around saw Charlie won the header fair and square, then complains the Kayal should have been red carded for same offence go get to specsaveers colraine paris bun

Maj made the kind of challenge Vidic and Terry make every week and get applauded for (and rightly so). Up here it somehow becomes a big deal.

If Maj wanted to hurt the player he would have went in with an elbow or a knee (ala McCulloch), the fact he made contact with his cheekbone tells you he hasn’t tried to hurt anyone and that Lomas is an idiot!

  • Stevie says:

Lomas didn’t now what he was but I do now, just another clown that won’t complain when cheated by the Shame.
