Rangers players will be paid in full their February salaries while Dunfermline and Dundee United go without vital ticket money.
Administrators Duff and Phelps gave an upbeat media conference at Ibrox today and announced that they were confident that the club would avoid liquidation despite having a number of issues that still require to be clarified.
Confusion remains over the location of the £24m loan from Ticketus and who currently has security over the main assets of Ibrox Stadium and Murray Park.
No redundancies have been announced yet with full wages due to be paid later in the month.
“I’m not going to speculate what the review will entail,” claimed Paul Clark of Duff and Phelps. “I am delighted to confirm that we will be making the February payroll obligation in full.”
That announcement is bound to anger Dundee United who are believed to be owed around £100,000 from their Scottish Cup tie at Ibrox last month.
Dunfermline are due a similar amount for ticket sales from last week’s SPL match at East End Park with Inverness Caley Thistle unlikely to receive any money from the ticket allocation that they gave to Rangers for their forthcoming visit to the highlands.

I heard Craig Whyte stuck the 24million on celtic to win the league
The £24 million is in the Parent company account ( not the Club’s account).
As for “other clubs”…..
Couldn’t make up my mind today whether Dunfermline’s response was …Dignified or Nauseating.
So many things associated with this debacle that are rotten to the core.
As for Investors “lining up” to buy this Club in Administration……
For 4 years Sir MInty couldn’t get a buyer…when all these facts were still a secret….
Now they’re out in the open and they have queue of buyers….!!
You couldna’e make it up…..
Oh sorry I forgot…This is Scotland.
I would love to go to a friendly with Dundee United at Parkhead to allow them to recoup some of the money that they lost to Rangers, who knew exactly that they were stiffing United when they took the money from their fans for the tickets. Both teams have been cheated and lied to by Rangers and should look for vengeance on the park.
Ooo, that would stir the shit! Nice idea – get other teams on side.
Paying Rangers players with other peoples money. Should they not be paying Hearts, ICT, the taxpayer and so on 1st?
Yep, that’s who an administrator’s legal duty is to, the creditors, and not the staff. Although you would never know that it is their duty from the statement they made yesterday stating that their first priority is to ensure the survival of the club. For an administrator, they sure don’t know their legal responsibilities.
Although I have sympathy for Rangers (I can’t believe I’d ever say that)this is totally out of order, why are Rangers, a club who didn’t manage it’s affairs properly, being given priority over clubs who have balanced their books in difficult times and need the money to continue to balance the books?
