Mo Bangura made his AIK Stockholm debut for the second time in a 2-1 win win over Helsingborg at the Rassunda Stadium.
It was the fifth straight defeat for last season’s Swedish champions who were drawn alongside FC Twente, Hannover 96 and Levante in the Europa League.
Bangura went straight into the AIK side who scored two late goals through Martin Lorentzson and Celso Borges to cancel out David Accam’s 7th minute strike for Helsingborgs.
The win lifts AIK into joint second place on 39 points alongside Hacken and Malmo with leaders Elfsborg sitting on 44 points.
Bangura had a hand, and backside, in the winning goal with his shot blocked then deflecting into the path of Borges who crashed the ball into the net from 20 yards out.
AIK have been drawn alongside Napoli, PSV Eindhoven and Dnipr in the Europa League but it’s not known if Bangura will be eligible to play in those matches.
Another loan Celt enjoying his weekend is Lewis Toshney who helped Dundee to a 1-0 win over Hearts at Tnecastle.
Former Celt Ryan Conroy scored the only goal of the game with a first half penalty while Rab Douglas saved a penalty at the other end to give Barry Smith his first win as an SPL manager.
Daryl Murphy made another debut for Ipswich in the 2-2 draw at home to Huddesfield setting up Luke Chambers for the first Ipswich goal but then being involved in a controversial penalty that allowed Huddesfield to draw level.
James Keatings made his third substitute performance for Hamilton Accies but got no joy out of Partick Thistle as Jackie McNamara’s side won 4-0.
