Celtic fans gave Scott Sinclair a special welcome against St Johnstone yesterday- with the player showing his appreciation after the final whistle.

Seven days after suffering racist abuse at Ibrox- which hasn’t yet been commented on by the SFA or SPFL- he was back at Celtic Park, supported and appreciated.

Sinclair appeared as a substitute for Mikey Johnston just before the hour mark to a great reception as Celtic turned on the style in a 4-1 win.

At the end of the match the players showed their appreciation for the supporters with Brendan Rodgers suggesting that Sinclair should take a special bow in front of the Celtic support.

As the former England u-21 player walked towards the Safe Standing Area at Celtic Park one fan threw on an anti-racism t-shirt which Sinclair picked up and displayed to the supporters.

Speaking at his nomination for the SPFA Player of the Year Award Sinclair revealed that the Ibrox incidents were his first experiences of racism inside a football ground.
