Scott Brown will come into contention for a place against Rosenborg on Thursday.

The midfielder has only played for 21 minutes since the end of September- missing out on the last three Europa League matches- but is back in contention for a place in Norway.

Brown took part in training throughout last week but Brendan Rodgers decided against playing him on the plastic pitch at Hamilton.

“It was just too much of a risk today but he’s been doing really well so we’ll see how he is over the next few days and hopefully he will be in and around the squad for (Thursday),” the Celtic boss told Radio Scotland.

Celtic need a win in Rosenborg to ensure that their qualification hopes remain alive going into the final match, at home to RB Salzburg.

While Celtic are in action on Thursday night suspicious eyes will be cast over the action in Austria as the two Red Bull backed clubs come together.

Despite winning all four of their matches so far Salzburg are available at around 3/1 to win at home against the Leipzig club despite winning in Germany on Match Day 1.

There is still a possibility of three teams finishing the group on 12 points, if that happens the results against Rosenborg will be discounted to see which two teams go forward to the last 32 of the Europa League.
