Celtic fans had plenty to celebrate as they watched a new look side triumph 2-1 over Hearts at Tynecastle.

Back in September Celtic’s results slumped without Callum McGregor and Kyogo Furuhashi but over the last four months Ange Postecoglou has managed to add quality and quantity to his squad.

McGregor and Kyogo joined David Turnbull, Tom Rogic,Daizen Maeda and Yosuke Gucchi on the sidelines but Celtic still had too much for Robbie Neilson’s side with effectively a new look midfield and attacking trio on show.

Reo Hatate sat out Saturday’s bruising encounter at Alloa, he returned last night and smacked in an outstanding opener that silenced 90% of Tynecastle.

Soon afterwards Giorgos Giakoumakis demonstrated that he is much more than a target man, timing his front post run to perfection then flicking the ball into the net with his heal to leave John Soutar and Craig Gordon stranded.

With two home matches coming up Postecoglou’s side have the chance to really open up the title race as they take the initiative during a transitional season.

Everybody is saying it was like Nakamura. To me it was like The goal scored by Andy Thom at ibrox. A thing of beauty for sure.
