All has gone strangely quiet on Joe Hart glass incident

Eight days after the incident a Rangers fan has appeared in court charged with throwing a bottle at Celtic physio Danny Friel.

The incident happened as the Celtic management team made their way up the tunnel at half-time in the Glasgow derby, soon after Cameron Carter-Vickers put Celtic 2-1 in front.

After seeing their physio have his head patched up with stitches the Celtic players ran out for the second half, upon reaching the penalty box in front of the Copland Road Stand Joe Hart noticed several pieces of broken glass in his work place.

Referee Willie Collum was called over, the re-start delayed and finally some members of the Ibrox ground staff appeared to collect the pieces of glass. More than a week after the incident everything seems to have fallen quiet, there has been no reports of anyone being arrested.

Should Celtic request a full public review of security at Ibrox from Sunday?

Yes, we need to know the levels of security including CCTV imaging

No, the authorities are doing their best, this was a one-off

It seems remarkable that no-one noticed the glass in the penalty box before Hart prepared for the second half. There has been no release of CCTV to help identify what happened.

Both Police Scotland and the SPFL will be reporting on the incident. How glass got into the penalty area and how it evaded the stewards, Police Officers and ground staff is something of a miracle.

With the culprit for the physio incident already appearing in court hopefully whoever was responsible for the other glass incident will also be tracked down.
