According to the statistics the top two teams in the SPFL Premiership have both been awarded seven penalties this season.Â
That seems fair enough although the goal records of 78 v 67 would suggest that it is Celtic that are more likely to be on the attack, in and around their opponents penalty area.Â
Yesterday, leading 3-0 Andrew Dallas- he of four penalties in one match infamy- pointed to the penalty spot when Reo Hatate was fouled just inside the penalty box. Josip Juranovic maintained his 100% record from 12 yards out.Â
All of the SPFL penalties that Celtic have been awarded have come when they were in front or on level terms.Â
Strangely, across the city the story is the complete opposite with a penalty kick most likely to be awarded when Old Firm FC are trailing or level.Â
Celtic and Rangers have now both been awarded 7 League PK’s this season.
Celtic have been awarded none when trailing and Rangers have been awarded none when leading.
The combined scores when PK’s were awarded are 13-0 for Celtic and 1-5 for Rangers. pic.twitter.com/1fvEBvviRR
