After a gutsy two week campaign led by the Daily Record it has been confirmed that Steven Gerrard has no interest in taking James Tavernier to Saudi side Al Ettifaq.

It appears that he has is no need for a penalty kick specialist with Jack Hendry providing the defensive skills that have been lacking throughout the career of the former Wigan utility man.

From almost nowhere, following the 3-2 defeat away to Ross County Keith Jackson held up interest from the Saudi Pro League as the reason for Tavernier’s drop in form.

That was all that the Record required to fire up the bandwagon, within a few days everyone in Saudi was talking about the World’s Greatest Defender, the Record even found a Saudi website picking up on their Tav tales.

Showing the skills that have kept him at the top of the Record for 30 years Jackson decided to add Connor Goldson into the ‘deal’ but alas some reality has now been applied.

With 319,000 followers on Twitter X Jacobs has a little more credibility than Daily Record Sport on 70,900 with Jackson having a following of 28,800.

Next season Tavpen is expected to be given a Testimonial Match.

The Record recently ditched their Butland For England campaign.

That will be Inaction Jackson ,the self titled “Scotland’s Most Influential Columnist ” getting his story wrong again ? Have a big wager on that it won’t be his last .

  • Captain Swing says:

Tavpen would be lucky to get a move back to Wigan Al Ettifaq. He might end up at Dunfermline Al Ettifaq or Forfar Al Ettifaq.

  • scousebhoy says:

he is accountable to no one. the amount of stuff he gets wrong is proof of that. all that matters to him is his hefty wage packet. a disgrace to journalism.

  • The Joker says:

The only Butland is getting called up for England will be for National Service.

    • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Oh The Sevco Huns would love all that army pish – until of course it came to action when they’d scuttle down the street to The Govan Shipyards just as they so quickly did in their beloved wars !

  • Jim M says:

What surprised me more than another bullshit Jackson story is that you say he has 28800 X / Twitter followers, the poor fools, didn’t realise that there were so many deranged people in Scotland , out with Sevco zombie squad support.

They must ready to push McCausland out there as a target for Man City or Real Madrid, with bids starting at £50 million with that famous sell-on clause of theirs.

Editor: I think Keith will be on the job but I can’t see Dessers taking a £30,000 a week pay cut.

    • The Joker says:

When a quadruple has to be won some people will hive up anything, including taking a pay cut.

  • The Joker says:

Tav’s Saudi dream more like a wet dream.
