Celtic have shown their first sign of nerves over Season Ticket renewals.
On May 1 the club made a half hearted launch for the campaign that secures their biggest source of income.
There was no sugar-coated message from a manager, player, Chairman or CEO with the announcement.
Most fans are now paying around £40 a match with zero additional benefits. No cup ties, friendlies or European matches included.
Fans have until May 29 to renew.
Ahead of the Renewal launch the Celtic Fans Collective had got their own message out. ‘Delay until the final day’ alongside an image of Michael Nicholson.
CELTIC START THE SCARE TACTICS
Almost a full month of £800 sitting in the bank accounts of supporters rather than the Celtic account.
At 6pm on Tuesday May 5 the club sent out their first warning to fans holding back.
Following the opening of the Season Ticket renewal window last week, supporters on the waiting list are reminded that no further action is required.
Should you become eligible for a Season Ticket offer, the Ticket Office will contact you using the contact details you have provided to the club.
There is no need to contact the Ticket Office – they will get in touch if you are successful in receiving a ticket offer.
Thank you for registering your interest in a Season Ticket; we appreciate your patience and continued support for the club.
No figure inside Celtic is willing to stand up and state the case and benefits for the Season Ticket.
Callum McGregor is the obvious figure but he knows the emotions and feelings of supporters.
He does plenty of work as the club captain but putting himself up to lecture supporters is a No-No.
There is no-one in the boardroom with any credibility or respect among the support.
The CEO hasn’t said a word since December 16 when he discussed his excitement of Wilfried Nancy’s recruitment plans.
Celtic’s interim Chairman has more passion for ferries than forwards. Only the mention of the SNP creates any level of excitement in the 77-year-old.
Before the Deadline Date for renewal Celtic could win two trophies.
In normal circumstances fans would be throwing money at the club. Showing off their renewal emails. Maybe ordering a new club shirt or two to celebrate.
Dermot Desmond’s messengers have killed much of that. Expect more not so subtle references to the mythical Waiting List in the days ahead.

They’re getting twitchy…
Clearly they see the waiting list getting eaten into this time around…
And while I’m at Vote anti ferry man “Butchers Apron” Wilson’s Labour OUT on Thursday…
And Vote Butchers Apron loving Tory, Butchers Apron loving Lib-Dem out as well, And Vote Butchers Apron loving Reform UK out as well…
You know as a Celtic supporter that’s your duty…
Vote SNP until someone starts Scottish Sinn Fein !
Always wondered what happened to that waiting list when we put tarpaulin down on the top of the LL stand!
