Chris Sutton effectively told the Ibrox cheerleaders to dry their eyes over today’s defeat at Celtic.
It was a comprehensive win for the home side as they ended the faint title hopes of Danny Rohl’s side.
Mikey Moore gave the visitors the lead in the ninth minute but in the 23rd minute Celtic equalised through Yang Hyun-jun.
Two brilliant, contrasting finishes from Daizen Maeda settled the match early in the second half.
Celtic are now two victories away from winning a fifth successive title.
Of course the Ibrox club couldn’t accept defeat. Being outplayed and outfought. Having their rookie in the dug-out outsmarted by a 74-year-old.
Nick Walsh managed to award Rohl’s side twice as many free kicks as Celtic despite a 51%-49% possession split in favour of the hoops.
As a consolation the Ibrox messengers are bleating that Alistair Johnston should have been sent off. If there had been a way John Beaton on VAR would have found it.

Johnston went in at an angle and took the ball. There was nothing excessive about his follow through. A booking was harsh.
SUTTON KNOWS THE AGENDA OF THE APOLOGISTS
Clutching at straws Kris Boyd zoomed in on the tackle during Sky’s brief half time analysis. Neil Lennon agreed with his mate Boyd.
That was all that the Daily Record and Sun needed to run with an early deflection story.
Johnston got away with one. Celtic should have been down to 10 men.
And off they go.
It was a challenge that was repeated throughout the match.
Connor Barron elbowed Arne Engels on the head. Barely a mention.
Some moon-howlers are claiming that Celtic’s opening goal should have been disallowed for offside. And so they go on.
Which all takes some attention away from the failings of Rohl.
Or the departure of Captain Disappointed, at fault in all three goals. The hooked in front of jeering Celtic fans celebrating a decade of howlers from the former Wigan ace.
This is the difference between endangering your opponent and a reckless tackle. It’s not even in the same stratosphere as a red card. pic.twitter.com/1m4mhO3Vv3
