David Tanner has finally replied to the accusation that he listed a Celtic fan blessing himself as one of the inflammatory actions at Ibrox on March 8.
After a horrific 120 minutes that barely featured a decent chance for either side Celtic went through 4-2 on aggregate.
Naturally Tanner was heart-broken. His bottom lip was trembling.
Worse than that TalkSPORT wanted him to go live on air to summarise the situation.
As a few Celtic fans, well below 50 entered the pitch Tanner couldn’t hold back on his anger.
On successive Sunday’s he had turned up at Ibrox expecting Danny Rohl to bury Celtic.
In the SPFL the hoops had come back from 2-0 down to earn a draw, a lifeline in the title race.
DISASTER AND MISERY FOR TANNER AT IBROX
Without Kieran Tierney and Callum McGregor they had gone through in the Scottish Cup.
O’Neill had the brass neck to put Joel Mvuka on after 79 minutes.
All of that proved to be too much for Tanner.
One Celtic fan in particular upset the former Sky Sports anchor-man. For weeks after the match Tanner was questioned on Twitter why someone blessing them-self caused him such distress.

In other words it s these organised Ultras, and they are now throwing bottle, there’s now, they’re now squaring up to stewards there as well.
The Celtic fan who came onto the pitch, there’s one there at the bottom, blessing himself in front of the Rangers supporters!
Tanner felt that a fan blessing them-self was as newsworthy as throwing bottle and squaring up to stewards.
There are reasons why Tanner very very rarely gets a live gig these days.
Being the TalkSPORT Scottish football correspondent is the broadcasting equivalent of playing in the Lowland League. The bottom of the barrell.
He is on a steady number at TalkSPORT thanks to his mentor Jim White. Tanner followed ‘Red, Blue and’ at STV and Sky Sports. He has a press pass secured for Ibrox.
Seven years ago Sky decided to bump the wooden presenter that had failed to master auto-cue.
It was a steep fall for Tanner. There were no helping hands from media colleagues, not even a regular gig with BBC Scotland. The broadcasting home of Kenny Macintyre, Alasdair Lamont, Jane Lewis and Steven Thompson. Hardly overflowing with talent.
These days Tanner is trying gallantly to push a podcast that no-one is listening to plus ‘reveal all’ Q and A nights with his Rangers heroes. Even the Gullible aren’t rushing to buy those tickets.
No blessing yourself
