Super Jack Butland has penned an emotional farewell to Ibrox fans as he prepares to join Hull City.
The prospect of the former Crystal Palace reserve playing in the EPL is bound to be good news for punters with Hull already the favourites to go straight back to the Championship.
Butland spent three seasons at Ibrox talking an outstanding game and delivering virtually nothing..
Of course he ‘gets it’ playing the fans like a flute. He regularly discussed the pressures of a big club, the demands of winning and the proud history!
One League Cup winners medal will be included in the furniture as he takes his strange sense of arrogance to the east coast of England.
That medal was largely gifted to Super Jack by the efforts of Alan Muir and Don Robertson with Celtic losing a controversial cup tie at Rugby Park.
Later that season Butland gifted the Scottish Cup winning goal to Adam Idah when he spilled a shot. In true trademark fashion.

3 years ago i made a decision to join this great football club, with no hesitation and i’m so glad that i did. While it’s been a rollercoaster, i’ve always tried to represent the club in the best way i can, both on and off the pitch and i leave with great pride knowing that i truly gave the fans, the club and my teammates my all.
To the fans that followed us everywhere, you are what makes this club so great. We created memories and atmospheres all over europe and the sound of Ibrox in full voice will stay with me forever.
This is only goodbye for now. You’ve created a family of lifelong rangers fans, once a Ranger, always a Ranger, me and my family will always be that.
Thank you
Every Celtic fan will miss Butland.
In total Butland lost out in four cup ties to Celtic. Three at Hampden and once at Ibrox.
Two of those cup ties went to penalties. With all the data stored on a water bottle Super Jack failed to save any of nine penalties. He never got a touch on any of them.
JACK BUTLAND- PICK IT OUT!
Adam Idah, Callum McGregor, Arne Engels, Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda scored from the spot in the 2024 League Cup Final at Hampden.
In March of this year Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Auston Trusty, Hatate and Tomas Cvancara popped it past the so-called shot stopper.
Incredibly during the 2023/24 season the Scottish media whipped up a frenzy to get Super Jack into the England squad.
Phil Clement slapped a £30m price tag on his ‘keeper in the summer of 2024!
Just for a laugh Gareth Southgate took a trip to Ibrox to watch Butland playing against Celtic in April. The England boss wasn’t disappointed.
In the first minute a clearance from James Tavernier stuck Daizen Maeda and flew past Super Jack into the net.
Before half-time Matt O’Riley dinked a Panenka past the England hopeful.
To round off his afternoon Idah sent a low shot a yard left of Butland to score Celtic’s third on the day.
At the final whistle Butland joined Phil Clement in a lap of honour as Southgate made a sharp exit.
Butland’s final act against Celtic was watching a Maeda overhead kick loop into the net.
In keeping with his Ibrox career Butland lost four consecutive cup finals then a trademark howler in his final appearance at Falkirk.
Butland’s other cup tie defeat was at home to Queens Park in the 2024/25 Scottish Cup,
Talk of a joint Testimonial for Butland and Tavernier has yet to be confirmed. Celtic Park has been suggested as a venue.

We will miss him dearly ?
Dunno much about the guy they’ve signed to replace him but he’s bound to better than Butterfingers Butland – let’s face it a cardboard cutout of Peter Shilton would better than “England goalkeeper” Butland, with his 9 caps to Joe Hart’s 75…..
