Celtic are reported to have resurrected their interest in signing Kasper Hogh.
The lunchtime news comes from David Friel of The Sun, the reporter who was first to link Celtic with signing Camilo Duran.
The former Celtic View reporter has a long track record of being very close to the action inside his former employer.
In February 2021 he revealed that Neil Lennon was stepping down as first team manager 10 hours before the stock market announcement.
With just 15 days until the start of the SPFL season Celtic have only made one signing.
Last week it was confirmed that Kelechi Iheanacho and Marcelo Sarachi won’t be returning for the new season.
Delivering some better news, The Sun reports:
CELTIC have resurrected their interest in Bodo/Glimt striker Kasper Hogh.
The Hoops were hopeful of a £7million January deal for the Dane – but the Norwegian club’s Champions League progress killed their chances.
SunSport understands 25-year-old Hogh is back on Martin O’Neill’s radar as he seeks fresh firepower ahead of the new campaign.
The Denmark cap is under contract until the end of 2029 and Bodo are now expected to want in excess of £7m for him.
But Celtic remain keen on Hogh, who has previously been chased by a number of English and European clubs.
Hogh was strongly linked with Celtic in January despite Bodo being heavily involved in the Champions League.
His goals against Manchester City, Athletico Madrid and Inter Milan took the Norwegian club into the last 16 of the Champions League.
CELTIC STRIKER ISSUES
How realistic Celtic’s intentions were in January is hard to work out. Striker wise Tomas Cvancara and Junior Adamu were brought in.
Neither of those deals worked out, Martin O’Neill turned back to Iheanacho and Daizen Maeda.
After the excitement of last season there was an expectation of a serious overhaul of the playing squad.
Luis Palma has left the club alongside Stephen Welsh and Maik Nawrocki who were out on loan last season. Shin Yamada has again gone out on loan.
At the age of 25 Hogh should be approaching his best years.
After missing out on the Norwegian title Bodo go into the Third Round Champions League qualifier, in the non-champions section.
That involves matches on August 4/5 and 11. Signing Hogh might require a premium with the striker important to Bodo’s qualifying prospects.
In 12 matches this season Hogh has scored seven goals and had seven assists.

Two weeks remain until our first league match. Most of the summer has been squandered. Fourteen players have left the club. Two have signed. I don’t think the squad has ever been so threadbare, nevermind that more departures of key players are expected.
With Michael Nicholson doing his best to deal with tricksy agents and difficult players, working night and day to secure top class talent, we can rest easy. Strikers are great when they score 1 or 2 every game, but when ur shipping 2 or 3 at the back against not the strongest of opposition in the spl, it kinda defeats the purpose.

The board don’t give a shit. Honesty and professionalism left the club when Dom MacKay left. He was the best thing to happen to Celtic since Fergus and the incompetents got rid of him to hire more incompetents like themselves. They feel secure amongst like-minded incompetents.. The present excuse for a CEO has even admitted that he cannot do his job although he is probably too stupid to notice it.
I said a while ago that we should challenge the board legally as shareholders and fans interests are not being secured. Challenging them in court is the proper option going forward.
