The Canadian internationalist has been linked with Celtic over the last few weeks and seems to be available at a very reasonable £3m.
Hadjuk Split seemed to be resigned to losing Sigur but not before their UEFA fate is sealed this week.
On Thursday Hajduk are away to Rakow after drawing 2-2 at home in the Conference League Platy Off round.
Across Europe it seems that transfer business will be on hold for a few days as clubs discover what competitions, and income streams, they’ll be on in the season ahead.
Celtic will at least know their fate ahead of most others.
On Tuesday night they’ll know if they are back in the Champions League or facing successive Europa League campaigns.
Financially there is a difference of around £20m between the two competitions. But monetary values can’t put on the prestige of playing in UEFA’s premier competition.
Should Celtic reach the Champions League transfer fees are likely to be nudged upwards. A price worth paying for success.

THE VERSATILE SIGUR
Sigur is mainly a defensive midfielder but can also cover at right-back.
He has been with Hadjuk since 2023.
During the World Cup Finals he made three appearances taking his cap tally to 22.
So far this summer there has been a marked change in direction for Celtic’s signing targets.
Even at the relatively young age of 22 Sigur has good experience and would seem to be a ready made first team contender.
Martin O’Neill will host a media conference on Monday to preview Celtic’s match in LASK.
It is unlikely that he will give much away in transfer terms before or after the match with the Austrian champions.
