Dermot Desmond will be in Scotland this week, taking part in the Alfred Dunhill Cup between Thursday and Sunday.
Celebrating 25 years of sponsorship the pro-am event is played over three courses allowing celebrities, plus Michael Stewart to play at the Old Course St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns which is a few miles south of St Andrews.
Taking part in the competition is a real highlight in Desmond’s diary, this year he will be joined by Ross and Brett on the fairways.
Desmond last attended a Celtic AGM in 2006 but the Dunhill Cup is an event that he has only missed once since 2001.
In 2024 the Celtic Director won the tournament, playing alongside former Ryder Cup player Thorbjorn Olesen from Denmark.
On Thursday Desmond Snr will be playing in Match 54 at Carnoustie which tees off at 11.01. The hoops director will be joined by Davis Bryant, Oliver Lindell and Greg Johnson.
Ross Desmond, who has attended recent AGM’s representing his Dad, will start the competition at Kingsbarns. Match 68 will be teeing off at 11.01, just like Dad.
Brett Desmond will be playing at Carnoustie on Thursday, teeing off at 10.39 in Match 38.

Sunday’s final round at St Andrews is by ticket only.
Fans attending should dress for all weathers, golf shoes are recommend for the spectator areas which are roped off, effectively in the rough.
As well as the Desmond family Gareth Bale, James Milner, Ruud Gullit and Ronan Keeting will be competing.
Scotland’s Bob McIntyre defends his trophy with Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood, Luke Donald and Bubba Watson among the leading golfers taking part.

Might nip along to cheer, I mean jeer Desmond on .
The Dunhill Cup hasn’t been around for about 25 years. What we have had since then is a billionaires vanity project that belittles and desecrates the home of golf at Saint Andrews. The whole affair is a disgusting abuse of wealth and there is no real surprise that Dermott Desmond and his sons are heavily involved. As a sporting event it has no legitimacy.
