15th August 2026; Tannadice Park, Dundee, Scotland; Scottish Cup Football, Dundee United versus Celtic;
Martin O’Neill has made four changes to the Celtic side that lost to Benfica for the SPFL clash with Hearts.
Auston Trusty, Oliver Sorenson, Kasper Hogh and Sebastian Tounekti miss out with Liam Scales, Ben Nygren, Hasseim Hassan and Calum Osmand in the Starting XI.
It is the first ever starting place for Omand, on the bench Landon Emenalo is listed for the first time since his loan move from Chelsea.
Sorenson, Trusty and Hogh find places on the bench but Tounekti drops out of the matchday squad.
Mika Baur was an injury doubt after the defeat to Benfica but retains his place for the re-match of last season’s title decider.
Celtic have only dropped three points in the SPFL so far this season but that record is likely to come under threat today.
CELTIC RETURN TO TOP SPOT
Last Saturday Celtic were nudged out of top spot but a 2-0 win at Motherwell on Sunday made sure that situation was brief.
After last night’s result at Dundee the hoops can go four points clear at the top but Hearts have a similar incentive. An away win will leave them one point off second and two away from top spot.
After losing at Falkirk and drawing at Kilmarnock before the international break Hearts enjoyed an emphatic 5-0 win over St Mirren last Saturday.
Today’s match falls between two Europa Conference League ties. On Thursday Hearts drew 1-1 at home to Nordsjaelland, on Thursday they are away to Trabzonspor.
It is a tough schedule for Hearts, one that they were spared from last season, losing the title on Matchday 38 at Celtic Park.
Next up for Celtic is a Europa League visit from Celta Vigo followed by a trip to face Hibs at Easter Road.
David Dickinson referees his first Celtic match of the season today.

Wtf!, Murray again and no Ox again. When’s he going to believe the evidence of his own eyes, he’s not the cleverest person in the room. How many times does something need to fail before it registers with him, at least half a dozen if Tonetki is anything to go by.
