Michael Gannon and Keith Jackson of the Daily Record have mocked and laughed at Martin O’Neill’s renewed commitment to managing Celtic.
On Tuesday evening, 16 days after his last comments the Celtic boss appeared on club media.
Apparently speculation over his future was just outside noise.
O’Neill was revived and fully charged up for the task of managing Celtic.
Any team can lose three games in a week, it had all been overhyped with O’Neill ready to lead the fightback.
A few small changes, the return of some players and the small margins will turn in Celtic’s favour according to the manager.
Celtic supporters were resigned to O’Neill staying on. Being proactive on any issue isn’t a trait associated with Michael Nicholson. The mute CEO that takes out £17,000 a week for doing nothing in particular.
With a turgid plating style, players disillusioned and another horrific transfer window Celtic fans can see all the tell-tale signs.
Comparisons range from Neil Lennon’s disastrous 20/21 season and the eight game nightmare of Wilfried Nancy.
THE SPECIAL DAILY RECORD AND CELTIC RELATIONSHIP
As club media partners the Daily Record would be expected to take a more detached view, to push the case for the club.
Last November Gannon came up with the WORLD EXCLUSIVE that Celtic were in advanced talks to appoint Wilfried Nancy as manager.
On June 5 alongside three other reporters he got another EXCLUSIVE with O’Neill taking up a one year contract as permanent manager.
Topping it off after a week of boozy networking in Alburfeira Gannon returned home with a full breakdown of the wage structure of Bursanspor. Josh McCafferty of The Herald/Celtic Way also acquired a detailed breakdown of salaries in the Turkish Second tier.
On the Record podcast Gannon and Jackson were chatting and giggling as if no one was watching or listening to their banter.
DAILY RECORD HOTLINE PODCAST
2 minutes 55 seconds
GANNON: He did sound pretty invigorated by the break with his family. Am I convinced by it? That it is the right decision or the sensible decision, I’m not entirely sure.
JACKSON: Are you even certain that it is his decision?
GANNON: Well…. (laughs) it did sound like ‘I am up for the battle, I am very much here. Sorry Dermot, what does that word say, is that Chat GPT? Ah ha ha. Oh that is a terrible thing to suggest.
JACKSON: Ha ha ha
GANNON: I think that he is. He spoke after the last game, he did pour his soul out. Utterly compelling viewing for a manager to be so honest about his own fears, doubts and misgivings. Listen, that set the narrative.
Nobody was really saying ‘Are you going to get the Dan Mac here Martin?’ But he set the narrative by saying that he was going to go away and think about whether I can do this any more.

Having made those comments it is unlikely that Gannon or Jackson will be at Lennoxtown on Friday to question O’Neill.
That task is likely to fall on Ryan McDonald who was also on the Albufeira jolly.

Martin has lost the fans support for his silent routine for the best part of three weeks.
Any friend of Desmond the horrible has no place at CELTIC.
Time to go before they push you.
Thanks for the memories.
Club obviously is a joke to these hun leaning hacks…..hard to argue against their impression the way our board is conducting club business…..Joe I’m very thankful to Martin for stepping up in our hour of need but he should of walked after we pumped mini huns to win league, can’t see things improving with him staying in charge, we need fresh blood modern tactical training ground manager who can sort this mess out.
The daily Record and it’s ‘sport ‘ scoops led by Pretzel Jackson ( the twister of words ), are in their glory at theRangers returning to play and promoting Celtic’s unrest at every opportunity ? Watch how the narrative shall be pro Celtic board and anti Celtic fan groups stirring the pot desperately hoping the turmoil between everyone continues ? Everything and anything to aid and abet theRangers and league success for it’s dozens of loyal readers ! I can already see the headlines in my mind’s eye at the daily Record when McCann’s minions of Kilmarnock don’t try a leg against the tribute act on Saturday enabling a 24 hour table topping triumph ? It’s going to be a long ..manky …depressing 8 months until the end of the season …..all from the SMSM doing it’s bit for theRangers’ cause ! Buckle up ……or saddle up as the case may be ?
Imagine giving publicity to that rag of pancreatic cancer…
But hey that’s what Lucan and Brian ‘Butchers Apron’ Wilson sign off and approve…
Oh thank f*uck that I no longer pay Celtic cash !
