Artur Dias will referee Celtic’s Europa League tie against Copenhagen on Thursday night.

The 40-year-old from Portugal has been taking charge of international matches for a decade, earlier this season he took charge of the group stage match between Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain.

Dias refereed Celtic’s 2-2 draw away to RB Salzburg in 2014 but will find few survivors from that fixture when he checks the team-sheets on Thursday.

Neil Lennon will be without the suspended Ryan Christie for Thursday’s match with Scott Brown looking doubtful after being injured during the first leg.

VAR will be in operation for the first time at Celtic Park with two Portuguese officials there to provide pitchside assistance to Dias.

Celtic go into the match as favourites after securing a 1-1 draw last week in Copenhagen. At the weekend the hoops enjoyed a 3-1 win over Kilmarnock while their Europa League opponents were held to a 1-1 draw away to Silkeborg.
