James Tavernier has announced that he will be quitting Ibrox next month.
After 11 years of failure there has been no offer of a new contract for the former Wigan Athletic ace
Tavernier was signed by Mark Warburton in the summer of 2015– since then there hasn’t been a sniff of interest in him from other clubs.
Seven different permanent manager have stood by Tav as he created some incredible records and show-reels.
Time and time again his complete lack of defensive awareness has been exploited leading to many memorable Celtic moments.
TAVERNIER- A DECADE OF DISAPPOINTMENTS
At the old Rangers John Greig was captain as Celtic won their first 9-in-a-row. Plus a European Cup.
Tavernier, affectionately known as Captain Disappointed across Scottish football has watched Celtic win five trebles, four in succession.

On Monday Tavernier was on media duties and was vague about his plans for next season.
Clearly that hasn’t brought forward the offer of a new contract from the club. Or his overdue Testimonial Match.
This morning it was announced that Tavernier will leave at the end of this season.
Over the last two seasons the Ibrox skipper has been going out of his way not to mention disappointed in media interviews. The occasional one still slips through.
In March 2020 Tavernier gave his most revealing ever interview.
Soon after losing to Hearts in the Scottish Cup Tavernier told the club programme that he couldn’t handle the pressures of expectation.
Whenever anybody puts a bit of pressure on us in Scotland or gets in our face it seems to affect us too much.
That appeared in a programme for a match at home to Hamilton, Accies went out to win at Ibrox that night.
Tavernier has two matches left at Ibrox, if selected.
On Sunday at Ibrox all eyes will be on Kevin Clancy to see if he awards a farewell penalty.
If Clancy fails to deliver there will be incredible expectation on the referee for the May 13 match against Hibs to give Tav the send off that he deserves.
As it stands his last Ibrox penalty went over Vil Simisalo’s crossbar.
