James Tavernier is 10 days away from exiting Scottish football with a whimper.
Eleven years of mediocrity will come to an end at the Falkirk Stadium on May 16. If selected.
Despite being past his bang average best Tavernier remains a key player for Danny Rohl’s side.
As well as taking every corner, free kick and penalty he is now the long throw specialist.
Dujon Sterling’s deflected opener against Hearts on Monday came from a Tavernier throw-in.
TAVERNIER- TIME UP FOR THE GREAT PRETENDER
Despite all the false accolades handed to Captain Disappointed by the Scottish media there has been no hint of a fresh contract offer.
His last deal was signed in 2022 on the back of the delusions from reaching the Europa League Final.
Connor Goldson was given a huge new deal after running down his contract. To avoid disappointment Tavernier was given a series uplift despite having two years to run on his contract.

All three of Tavernier’s domestic honours came while Crawford Allan was Head of Refereeing at the SFA.
The 20/21 SPFL title was played out without any fans present. Across world football it is looked on as the freakiest of seasons.
Two domestic cup competitions were won after that with dubious refereeing decisions playing their part.
Since December 2023 there has been no additions to Tavernier’s medal collection.
When he departs it will leave Jack Butland and John Souttar as the only players at Ibrox with a winners medal. Danny Rohl has no winners medals from management.
Tav will make his final appearance at Ibrox next Wednesday, when Hibs are the visitors.
Hopefully some fans hang around to the final whistle to give their departing skipper the farewell that he deserves.
So far there hasn’t been a credible rumour of where Tavernier will move to next. There was one far fetched claim that Spurs are interested, but that was probably his more talented brother

Jumped on the Internet there to read it for a laugh and to see what FAKE NEWS they would be pushing out there.
There was an article on sevco to sign 7 Scottish players playing in the SPFL next season, lol only to click on it and be denied access to the article, the TRAMPS want £1 a month for access before moving on to a full subscription of £4.99 a month.
