Ryan Stevenson has hit out at the toothless attitude of the Hearts board.
A month ago today Hearts lost out on the SPFL title to Celtic.
Afterwards the Tynecastle club were fuming.
Two club statements were issued firing up the paranoia even though both issues proved to be utterly baseless.
Hearts heard the audio from Don Robertson. There were no missing minutes, the match was played to a conclusion.
Tony Bloom was next up with his claims that one or two players had been assaulted by Celtic fans. It never happened.
In contrast with their captain and manager slinking out the door there hasn’t been a single angry word out of Tynecastle.
In the Daily Record Stevenson doesn’t hold back, writing:
Losing Lawrence Shankland, the talisman, captain and goalscorer, to Rangers was bad enough.
But to then allow the manager to leave for the same club without so much as putting up a fight?
Hearts are turning into a feeder club. It’s embarrassing.
Listen, from a neutral point of view I understand why Derek McInnes and Shankland have gone. We all know they are Rangers supporters and it’s a massive club.
But from a Hearts point of view I’m livid. It’s been toothless. Not a word from any of the board over the last few days.
It looks like they’ve not put up a fight. At least come out and have a bit of b*lls and say ‘we don’t want him to go, we’re fighting to keep him’.
The Hearts squad that challenged for the SPFL title is being dismantled.
Cammy Devlin is out of contract with no indication that he will stay on at Tynecastle.
Frankie Kent and Beni Baningime are out of contract and have moved on.
Four players have been signed, including Calvin Miller but it is looking like a major makeover will be carried out during the close season.
On July 21/22 and 28/29 Hearts face a Champions League Second Round qualifier. If they lose that there is a Europa League Third Round Qualifier. Followed by a Conference League Play Off.
Hearts either face an autumn of European football or the nightmare of losing out in three ties before the end of August.
On Thursday the SPFL announce their fixtures for the 26/27 Premiership season.

Must’ve forgot when he was sitting on their Hotline live about a week before RM got emptied saying the Hun board should make a move for McInnes
This guy really is thicker than two short planks – does he not realise how the mainstream sports media in Scotland works? To them every club is a feeder club for the mighty Rainjurz and should be DELIGHTED to be harvested for their players and coaching staff. He won’t be getting invited back showing that sort of attitude. He’s an ex-player turned pundit, the job description is very clear – find the anti-Sellick angle in everything.
Even with the worst Celtic team in a generation and a board playing ‘waltz around the landmines ‘ last season ,McInnes could not win the league title from Celtic . He had all conditions in his favour but all he could produce was pppaarrrrppp… pppaarrrrppp ! Martin O’Neill’s other back pocket awaits his entry ….again !
For fu*ks sake you’d run to the other end of the street if you ever were unfortunate to encounter that c*nt in public !
