Kris Boyd is convinced that Derek McInnes can end Celtic’s dominance of Scottish football.
Over the last 12 months the former Portland Timbers striker said much the same about Russell Martin and Danny Rohl.
Boyd has waited 15 years to celebrate an Ibrox title win in public.
Just like his hero Derek Johnstone he has tipped every wearer of the brogues to end Celtic’s winning run.
This time the Ibrox club has gone down the staunch route.
Social media has highlighted the sort of songs that McInnes enjoyed in the nineties alongside Richard Gough, Ian Ferguson and Gordon Durie.
McInnes is the first staunch manager since Ally McCoist. Del can count on the unwavering backing of the Scottish media

When you look at what Derek has done, even his Aberdeen team caused problems to Celtic for a number of years.
He built something at Aberdeen, you only need to look at what was there before him and then what’s happened after, and that stability he had at Aberdeen.
Perhaps Boyd was down at McDonald’s when McInnes lost three cup finals to Celtic inside two years. His one and only trophy win came in 2015, Boyd was playing for Ally McCoist at the Tribute Act at that time.
MCINNES- HIS TRAGIC RECORD V CELTIC
When McInnes was head to head with Brendan Rodgers he won one match out of 13. Matchday 38 in season 17/18 when Aberdeen won at Celtic Park to clinch second place for the second season running.
In season 2016/17 Celtic beat McInnes’ side six times. Four in the SPFL and in both cup competitions.
The following season Celtic won 3-0 and 2-0 at Pittodrie and 3-0 at Celtic Park before defeat on the final day.
In Rodgers’ final season Celtic won 1-0 at Celtic Park in the SPFL. Ryan Christie scored the only goal in the League Cup Final with the hoops winning 4-3 at Pittodrie on December 26.
Neil Lennon drew 0-0 at home to Aberdeen then won 3-0 in the Scottish Cup semi-final followed by the title clincher with the same scoreline at Pittodrie.
McInnes has a horrific record against Celtic with Aberdeen. At Kilmarnock he fared better on the plastic pitch and assisted by shamed Alan Muir.
Last season at Hearts McInnes beat Rodgers in his final match and Wilfried Nancy in his first.
After that there was a 2-2 draw at home to 10 man Celtic in January then the final day defeat at Celtic Park.
McInnes then disappeared. Never to be seen or heard again by Hearts fans.
did he not say the same about Clement Murty Warburton Beale Caixhina Ferguson Martin Rohl ????

The list of players / managers that Boyd has given this kind of praise to when they join them that end up failing is mental. Has he ever got it right?
