Efrain Juarez appears to be close to joining ETO Gyor as manager.
Over the weekend there was speculation originating from Mexico that Juarez was in talks with Celtic.
A coaching role was mentioned with a view to the Mexican taking over from Martin O’Neill in a years time.
After a very brief spell playing for Celtic at the start of Neil Lennon’s first time in charge Juarez has played and coached across Europe and South/Central America.
His most recent job was managing Mexican side Pumas, after stepping down last month his intention was to manage in Europe.

The Mexican strategist will experience his first time as a manager in Europe.
EfraÃn Juárez has a new challenge: Gy?ri ETOof Hungary. After his successful stint with Pumas, where he led them to the final, the Mexican coach decided to take on the challenge of European football.
According to information from David Faitelson of TUDN, the Mexican signed with the Hungarian team, after being in negotiations with Mallorca of Spain and Maccabi Tel Aviv of Israel.
Faitelson has 3.9m followers on Twitter but there has been no comment on the ETO Gyor website.
THE JUAREZ FACTOR AND CELTIC
If true there is a very strange circle involved in the switching of jobs.
Once Robbie Keane resigned from Ferencvaros they moved quickly to replace him with Balazs Borbely from newly crowned champions Gyor.
Juarez was linked with Macabbi who are technically managed by Ronny Delia although he is currently on gardening leave due to disciplinary issues. Juarez was assistant manager to Delia at Club Brugge.
The Juarez to Celtic line looks like an attempt to put the Mexican in the spotlight, knowing that there is uncertainty over the roles of Shaun Maloney and Mark Fotheringham.
There appears to be no urgency at Celtic to get O’Neill’s backroom staff in place. Pre-season training is less than 10 days away.
Communication out of the club has virtually ran dry.
Not every rumour needs a reaction but some firm news on O’Neill’s backroom team would have killed off the links to Juarez.
Tomorrow will mark a week since Celtic announced O’Neill as permanent manager.
Since then he has given an interview to Track Radio and held Q and A evenings in Kirkcaldy, Dumfries and Uddingston. There has been no interview with Celtic TV.

How very dare us plebs challenge anything they do.
They know better.
More chance of getting Putin outta Ukraine than them outta Celtic.
The suits are trolling us all.
They are indeed as ya say trolling us Bhoy4life…
But it doesn’t quite feel so bad when you’re not paying a penny towards the dopey old grey coffin dodging b*astards !
Seems to me an attempt to piss martin off so much that he refuses the job and DD et al have no choice but to get their pick after all. Enter one Mr keane. No? Surely not ? Not celtic.
