DISGUSTING- Celtic’s Title Meltdown Continues As Guardian Reporter Revives His Pain And Anger

Ewan Murray hasn’t got over watching Celtic win the SPFL Premiership title.

It should have been a dramatic title decider to report back on to readers of the Guardian but Murray saw it differently.

He is a Jambo.

Scarred by Albert Kidd in 1986 he has always struggled to keep a lid on his dislike of all things Celtic. Especially supporters.

Last season promised redemption.

A glorious chance to even up a lifelong sore. The chance to hit back at the fans that laugh at his anger and sense of indignation.

On May 16 he turned up at Celtic Park to report on the title decider.

He left the ground further broken. With five minutes left to go his big maroon face had been bursting with pride.

He was sitting surrounded by Celtic fans in the Main Stand about to witness Hearts win the Scottish title.

Open top bus parades, a summer of parties on Gorgie. I WAS THERE status forever.

Derek McInnes, Lawrence Shankland and Cammy Devlin forever revered for stopping Celtic.

And Murray would be right in among the centre of it.

Keeping his joy and celebrations largely under his hat. Except for a few smiles and nods to the Hearts media team and Iain Jamieson, Celtic’s Communications Manager.

AND THEN CELTIC DESTROYED THE JAMBO DREAM!

Only they knew how much the events of Dens Park 86 had impacted their lives.

The very mention of Albert Kidd instantly revived a lifetime of hurt and suffering.

It was almost all over. And them the Marcelo Saracchi, Callum Osmand and Daizen Maeda moment arrived.

From glory to gory.

The world caved in on Murray.

He was slap back in the middle of a new nightmare. Watching Celtic fans celebrate all around him. No escaping.

Previewing the new season for the Guardian Murray let it all spill out, again:

Celtic’s supporters remain irate at the custodians of their club, whom they perceive as complacent and out of touch. And still no Notice of Complaint from the SFA over Tony Bloom’s fake assault claims.

Allan Preston, Tom English and the lads at BBC Scotland offered Murray physical and emotional support in the Celtic Press Box and Media Centre.

He wasn’t able to join McInnes as he bolted off on the team bus back to Tynecastle. Surrounded by tearful players still wearing their losers kit.

Murray had to go through the motions in the aftermath of Celtic’s title win.

Wishing that he was away reporting on a golf tournament rather than surrounded by joyful Celtic fans. Everywhere he looks.

Hearts have started the season with two skelpings from Sturm Graz, reward from that is two games against Benfica!

Tomorrow the remains of Jamestown FC start the SPFL away to Aberdeen.

McInnes remains his best hope of ending the Celtic domination that has been all over his journalistic career.
