Ibrox superstar Tuur Rommens will be out for ‘weeks rather than months’- dealing another blow to Derek McInnes.
That was the news released to the Rangers Review on Tuesday, soon after the ACL injury suffered by Youssef Chermiti was confirmed.
Rommens played the full match against Hibs on Sunday but left the pitch in pain holding his groin.
Rumours were rife on Monday night about an eight week absence. Alongside Chermiti being out for the season.
On Monday Andrew Cavenagh told a shareholders meeting that he expected to sign 3-5 players before the transfer window closed.
Rommens is the only recognised left-back at the club although Dujon Sicknote Sterling can also play there for three games a month.

With England star Ben Godfrey suffering a sore knee on his debut at Dundee United the injuries are piling up for McInnes.
Three serious injuries in three matches suggests that pre-season preparations were inadequate for the schedule ahead.
On Tuesday the unofficial messengers at the Rangers Review reported:
Tuur Rommens has suffered a groin strain and will miss Rangers‘ upcoming games through injury.
Rangers are hopeful the injury will see Rommens, 22, out for weeks instead of months.The Rangers Review understands that a loan move for Jayden Meghoma, 20, is on the club’s shortlist of possible left-back signings, a position targetted before Rommens’ injury.
However, the Brentford left-back who spent last season at Ibrox is under consideration alongside several other targets. James Penrice remains another option, although AEK Athens are believed to be pursuing a permanent deal should any move be agreed instead of a loan, which is thought to be more favourable to Rangers.
A loan deal for Penrice suggests that the transfer war-chest at Ibrox is almost empty.
Rommens was a £3m signing from Belgian minnows Westerlo in January, he is now on his third injury.
The defender arrived injured then was declared the best left-back in Europe attracting bids from unknown Turkish clubs.
Injury then ruled him out of playing between March 21 and May 4.
He returned as a substitute in the near fatal 2-1 defeat at Tynecastle before starting in the defeats against Celtic and Hibs.
McInnes will give an update on injuries and transfers today in his preview of tomorrow’s match against Jagiellonia.
The Poles come to Ibrox with a 2-1 lead, the losers drop into a Conference League Play Off next week.
It is believed that transfer talks to sign Lewis Ferguson, Mikey Moore and Vaclav Cerny are currently on hold.

I know they need the money but it might just suit them to get papped out of Europe as well as both cups here.
