Nick Walsh will referee Celtic’s League Cup quarter-final at Ibrox on Sunday.
The same match official had a nightmare last season in the semi-final tie between the two clubs at Hampden.
Johnny Kenny was on the receiving end of a brutal assault on the ankle from Derek Corneilus that resulted in only a booking as Walsh set the scene.
The decision came shortly after Dallas had stepped in on VAR to disallow an own goal from Nico Raskin.
Celtic were denied clear penalty claims for an assault on Reo Hatate then a late handball as Michel Ange Balikwisha crossed from the goal-line.
This week Walsh will be on duty as a PE teacher at Boclair Academy in Bearsden. After Sunday’s match he will resturn to the day job working on the fitness and educational needs of the Murray Park starlets.
Walsh hasn’t refereed a Celtic match this season.
He did take charge of the opening SPFL match of the season at Tannadice where he was confronted by Derek McInnes on the pitch after the final whistle.
To the surprise of no-one that incident wasn’t included in his match report to the SFA.
Frank Connor and Daniel McFarlane will be the assistant referees.
CELTIC AGAINST ALL ODDS GO TO IBROX
Andrew Dallas will be on VAR, one of the few full time refereeing officials in Scotland.
Dallas was on VAR duty for McInnes’ return to Pittodrie.
With the visitors leading 1-0 Dallas chose to ignore Dujon Sterling pushing Kevin Nesbit as the striker attempted to reach a cross to the back post.
The VAR official did intervene when the positions were reversed in the 81st minute.
Nesbit thought that he had scored but after a review requested by Dallas match referee Matthew MacDermid decided to disallow the Aberdeen equaliser.
With Steven McLean assisting on VAR there is virtually no chance of an incident favouring Celtic being picked up by the officials at Clydesdale House.

The two clubs meet again on September 20 at Celtic Park with Don Robertson or John Beaton expected to referee that fixture.
