Richard Gough Rangers newsRichard Gough wants the Rangers culprits jailed for life.

Yesterday’s news that HMRC would reject Charles Green’s CVA proposal was followed by a chilling statement warning that ‘liquidation provides the best opportunity to protect taxpayers, by allowing the potential investigation and pursuit of possible claims against those responsible for the company’s financial affairs in recent years.’

That statement would have sent alarm bells running for all former directors, as well as former chairmen Craig Whyte, John McClelland and David Murray.

Sympathy is thin on the ground amongst the Rangers support for those who ‘chased the dream’ with Gough blunt and to the point with his anger.

Lock them up and throw the key away,” he told The Sun. “The club I gave blood, sweat and tears for is dead. Whose fault is it? I don’t care.

“All I care about is the people who brought Rangers to their knees are punished. Tax evasion is a crime, everyone knows that. If you don’t pay your taxes you go to jail.

“It’s a white-collar crime that must have consequences so if HMRC are really serious about liquidation giving them the best chance to investigate why Rangers failed, I want to see it done properly.

“I want to see the people who are responsible for running Rangers into the ground brought to book. I don’t know if it’s Craig Whyte or whoever but I do know the culprit — or culprits — should be locked up.”

Gough added: “I’m still numb by the news 140 years of history has been wiped out in one fell swoop. It’s like a death in the family you know has been coming for a while.

“When it happens it still knocks you for six. It’s difficult to know what to make of it all. Too big to fail, that’s what I always thought. Or maybe it was more to do with not believing a club could be so badly mismanaged.

“This whole sorry episode has been one rat’s nest of corruption. So much of it stinks. It would take someone a long time to start piecing together all the rotten bits of this jigsaw but time might be something HMRC have if they are so determined to clamp down on tax evasion in football.

“When that happens I hope they show no mercy to the people who have destroyed Rangers. It’s the last thing the players deserve, the last thing boss Ally McCoist needs.

“Will anyone at Rangers go home tonight confident their wages are going to drop into the bank at the end of the month? Fat chance.

“There’s always protection for the rich, no matter how badly they mess up. Well this time it can’t happen.

“There’s a lot of people in Scottish football having a party right now. I’m not disagreeing about Rangers being punished. I just don’t understand why so many people are glorying in this.

It’s not just the graveyard of Rangers these people are dancing on there’s a real danger it could be Scottish football that dies a slow death because of this.

“I hope to God that’s not the case, but the people who are so quick to see Gers die have to be careful what they wish for.”

I wonder if Richard had an EBT? It would be funny if he was one of the “culprits”. Jail him for life.

  • Mr Gough the fans that are partying are the same fans that watched their rivals and the media party back in 1994, your club is gone, the rest of Scotland can get on with playing football on a level playing field. hail, hail

Three contradictory comments made from someone who should keep his mouth shut. You can’t have this all ways Gough!!

His old club have to be brought to justice and the one and only way this can happen is to punish them in as severe a way as possible.

This team they all want to see receive preferential treatment for their sins, along with the internal cohersion and corruption from the SFA and SPL is what has already killed the Scottish game. It won’t die without rangers!!

It is alreasdy dead because of them. You don’t die twice!

Revival can only begin with the expulsion of our corrupt Glasgow neighbours. The idle threats are disgraceful but typical of a desparate team. I do find the inclusion of Craig Whyte’s name mind-boggling. He took over the most corrupt organization in the history of Scottish football without knowing it, and wouldn’t you know it!! they blame him for what has been happening for more than a dozen years before he even arrived on the scene.

Now they want to blame Green! He is too smart for the fans though. the truth is that the fans are angry at the club, they aren’t smart enough to see this yet, but they are. Gough was no less a cheat than those exposed.

His corrupt “arrangement” with rangers and Spurs was a disgrace even back then. Dundee Utd refused to sell Gough to rangers so instead they sent him to Spurs and within a few weeks he was back at rangers from there.

People who have just jumped on the “you want to put the boot into us” bandwagon have no idea what they are talking about.

I suspect the cleansing has to begin in the Scottish game now. Clean out that crud in the drainpipe and flush it away for good.It has been choking the drain for too long now.

I´ll tell you why people are glorifying in this situation Richard in 2 words.
Sectarianism & bigotry because that´s the whole thing rangers & their support are all about.
