Celtic have slammed the handbrake on their social media output.
As backing grows for the actions of the Fans Collective it seems that the club has decided to keep a low profile online.
Just 46,000 tickets were sold for the Europa League tie against Braga three weeks ago. The attendance inside the stadium for tonight’s match against Sturm Graz is expected to be around 35,000.
COMMUNICATIONS CRASH
In normal circumstances that would result in a big push to sell tickets, it appears that the club is wary of attracting further criticism from fans.
On October 6 Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay met with supporter groups and doubled down on their world class claims.
One of the points raised was pricing of Europa League tickets. Out with Season Ticket holders no concession tickets were available. A week after that meeting the club made tickets at £32 available to under-18s and pensioners.
This week’s social media output has been very limited.
Once a day reminders of tonight’s match have gone out to entice fans to buy tickets. Other than that there has been one look at previous matches against Austrian clubs, a quiz and brief coverage of Wednesday’s media conferences.

As recently as Friday the club was gloating over sales for the new Adidas SPZL range. Strangely they have gone very quiet on that front.
Tonight will be the first match in which the club can measure the effect of the actions from the Fans Collective.
COLLECTIVE ACTIONS
Following a meeting last week the Collective are backing a campaign to boycott all club related spending other than match tickets.
A year ago money was pouring into the club from Champions League match and associated spin offs.
Playing on a Thursday night with a skeleton squad is a costly business.
Every income stream is in decline, until Nicholson faces up to the responsibilities that come with his salary the stand off is going to escalate. This campaign is only just getting underway.
Celtic have still to publish their full 2025 accounts which will include the date of the AGM. The build up to tonight’s match could be the time to bury bad news, including executive salaries and bonuses.

Does it all end if Lawwell steps down and Nicholson gets replaced?
Editor: That would be a decent start but much more needs done.
It’s starting to get ugly…
Unfortunately so are the results on the fuckin field of play !
Even before the, Not Another Penny’ campaign was launched my families ST holders were boycotting the HCTSCHEME and Europa games we also decided not to spend in the club shop, although it might be difficult for parents to comply with Christmas on the horizon. This sort of campaign is the only thing our board of accountants will take any notice of. I was also glad that fans didn’t boo at HT despite being behind, probably because it was obvious the players were running their hearts out.
