Willie Collum has called in his heavyweight officials for the weekend SFPL fixtures.
John Beaton and David Dickinson are among the most staunch on the circuit, both will be heading to Edinburgh for what could be decisive matches in the title race.
Dickinson is first in action, refereeing Celtic’s noon kick-off away to Hibs.
To say that Dickinson isn’t a fan of Celtic is an understatement.
Him and his family detest Scotland’s most successful club. Especially Uncle David who is now based in Australia. Curiously referee David is named after his Uncle rather than his Father.

When the Dickinson families have anything to celebrate they tend to get together at the Prince of Wales Lodge in Renfrew.
At the turn of the year Dickinson was involved in an incredible run of fixtures involving Danny Rohl’s side. Fans of Dundee United, Motherwell, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock were not impressed.
Dickinson refereed four matches involving Rohl’s side between December 3 and February 4. He hasn’t had any since then, perhaps Collum could explain that in his cosy monthly get together with Gordon Duncan
Assisting Dickinson at Easter Road will be Douglas Ross. Officiating in his final match as an MSP. His expenses claims should be easier, Ross lost his Westminster income stream in July 2024.
COLLUM STANDS BY HIS CLOSEST COLLEAGUES
Hearts will have their title credentials tested to the full on Monday when they host Rohl’s side.
The Lanarkshire tag team of John Beaton and Andrew Dallas will call the big decisions. The patience and restraint of Derek McInnes could be tested.
Collum knows the background to each of those officials. All are members of the Lanarkshire Refereeing Association.
Over the weekend there are a variety of combinations open at the top of the table.
There could be just one point between three teams or the gap could be stretched to seven with just nine points left to play for.
Dickinson, Beaton and Dallas will be in their element. No-one can be in any doubt of where their sympathies lie. The only surprise isthat Steven McLean has been left out this round of fixtures.
