Lewis Ferguson is on his way to Ibrox alongside a big bag of money!
All that Andrew Cavenagh needs to do is send Nico Raskin to Bologna to complete the deal
That is the view of Ian McColl as expectations grow for the staunchest ever team out of Ibrox this century.
Lawrence Shankland then Derek McInnes started the Revolution! with others of a similar DNA profile expected to follow follow.
It has been the most successful close season at Ibrox since last summer.
Memories of losing four cup finals in a row were wiped out by the arrival of Shankland just days after Celtic completed the domestic double.
Next up McInnes replaced Danny Rohl almost before the German genius joined RB Slazburg.
THE CLOSE SEASON GOOD NEWS FLOWS OUT OF IBROX
The search Is now on for others to join McInnes and Shankland as the Tribute Act chase their fourth trophy in 14 miserable years.
Raskin is apparently their most valuable player. But can be disposed off in order to bring Ferguson to Ibrox.
Picking up on the fantasy the Rangers Review reports:
Ian McCall has floated the suggestion that Nico Raskin may be used in a swap deal plus cash to land Lewis Ferguson at Rangers.
Raskin’s future at Ibrox continues to be speculated upon with the Belgian currently playing with his country at the World Cup. His price tag is expected to increase further given he is also contracted at Gers until 2028.
Not for anyone that watched last night’s 0-0 draw with Iran. Raskin was hooked after 58 minutes after making zero impact on opponents who are barely allowed to set foot in the host country.
The midfielder, 25, has a number of clubs keeping a close eye on his situation and Rangers could potentially look to cash-in this summer with his valuation at its peak.
McCall believes Raskin could well be a transfer target for Bologna in Serie A and, if so, the idea of a swap would suit Gers well considering they would also be due a few quid as part of any deal.
“I’m tipping a deal done, Jonathan, and I’ve not heard, this is not inside information. But I’m tipping a deal done between Rangers and Bologna with a swap for Raskin and Ferguson,” the former Ayr United boss said on the Scottish Football Podcast.
“It’ll be obviously a bit of money there as well. I think Raskin will go to Bologna and Ferguson will go to Rangers. This is a total hunch, no exclusive.”
There you have it. Perfect news creation, fabrication.
Get a clapped out former SPFL manager to share his Ibrox transfer fantasies on BBC Scotland, sit back and watch the other messengers spread the good news.
Asked which club would be due the money, McCall added: “I think Raskin is worth more than Ferguson, he’s potentially top notch in my opinion.”
And that explains why Colly has been out of management since October 2024 when he left Clyde.
As ever there is the BBC magic money tree to fall back on thanks to a playing spell with Rangers in the late eighties.
After three and a half trophy-less years at the third best club in Scotland there is virtually no interest in Raskin outside of media circles.
If he was any good he’d have left Ibrox before now.
So far James Tavernier is the only one of last season’s losers to have left Ibrox.
When McInnes returns for pre-season training he’ll be presented with Danilo, Ross McCausland and Jose Cifuentes returning from loan spells.
Raskin has two years left on his contract. Super Jack Butland has 12 months left on his lucrative contract.
NOTE: Raskin’s last club appearance was being substituted in the 2-1 defeat at Tynecastle. A mystery injury ruled him out of the three remaining cup finals, starting with the defeat from Celtic.

If they were able to pull that off (and it’s a very, very big if) it would be tremendous business because I think Raskin is overrated anyway and Ferguson is what their powderpuff midfield actually needs – a wholehearted type who will drive them on, in a comparable style to Broony in his peak years.
While it’s obvious that Laughing Boy McInnes is “going the Jock Wallace route”, hopefully Martin O’Neill factors that in and replicates the brawn of his 2000-05 teams with some robust signings. Then it won’t matter how many ‘staunch types’ they sign or how many sand dunes he has them running up…..
Pishfull thinking of the blunose variety. Thank goodness I don’t pay any attention to this crap.
I remember back in 2012 when the new club started ( mc coist, new big bus, staying in 5 stars hotels to play against plumbers and office workers, they drawn against Forfar in the League Cup. Sevco were not allowed to play some of their superstars because of a transfer embargo ( stop laughing at the back, middle and front). Forfar beat them 2-1, mc call was on the radio doing co commentary . The game ended and his line was Forfar didn’t beat Rangers* here the SFA rules did. From a man of many clubs usually small ones not a bit praise for wee Forfar only bitterness because Sevco were out their first of many competitions.
The less this guy does , the more the media try and hype him up
The big bandage salesman Cavanagh has already said there’s will have to be another share issue (confetti) to enable theRangers to bring in new average players in the close season ! I assume that the 49ers will be keeping their Billions for another campaign in another venture then ? At least the clumpany won’t ever run out of ‘wintergreen ‘ especially in the cold Scottish winters with the big chair guy around the place ?
And the big (Orange) band played believe it if you like !
Pishfull thinking indeed. It’s how they get through their miserable existence, before, inevitably, being disappointed.
I say this not with green tints on, during Scotland’s 2 games in the WC i had to check if Fergiehun was actually on the pitch as he was the invisible man, him and the huns are the match made in hell.
As for Raskin, where’s his talent? He is really rotten, it’s just difficult to see him do anything among the rest of the shit players.
Shankland? We were down 1-0 to Morocco after 2 minutes and Clarke obviously thought it unlikely he’d make a difference, tells you everything.
