Andy Halliday was among the angry Ibrox legends that missed out on a £2,000 a man bonus for winning the Tennents Sixes.
While most teams used the weekend event for a catch up, a few laughs and renewing some old rivalries one club treated it all a bit differently.
Using the world class training facilities of Murray Park nothing was left to chance in the preparations for the event.
Club Ambassador Barry Ferguson managed the squad, if he wasnt staunch enough he had Ian Durrant as his assistant.
What could possibly go wrong, especially after a 7-1 win over Celtic in Saturday’s group stage match.
Halliday and his slightly ruffled black thatch of ‘hair’ was all smiles as he provided after match analysis to Premier Sports.
As the knock out stage played out the prospect of a Glasgow Derby in the final became reality.

A video posted online shows an unnamed opposition player walking through the changing area moments after Celtic’s victory.
One player – who appears to be Kirk Broadfoot – can be heard laying into goalkeeper Lee Robinson for conceding five goals.
He can be heard ranting: “You’re diving out the way. You had f***ing seven shots this tournament. Mate, you’re meant to be a goalie. Take it on the f***ing dish!”
IBROX ACES WATCH BONUS SLIP AWAY
Alas for those in need of that £2,000 bonus payment the final was another high scoring thriller.
Despite trailing 2-0 and 4-2 Celtic stormed back to win 5-4. Money lost in the most public circumstances.
Kirk Broadfoot was less than impressed by the performance of his goalkeeper Lee Robinson.
Halliday was a substitute for Motherwell up until May. Martyn Waghorn is currently playing for non-league side Astley Nomads, Daniel Candeias only retired last month.
Each Ibrox legend had an individual sponsor, the club even negotiated a one off back of shirt sponsor.
The post event celebrations were at an advanced stage. Halliday was certain that he was going to add to his 2016 Petrofac Cup winners medal, won at Hampden against Peterhead.
The Ibrox dressing room wasn’t a happy place at Braehead yesterday.
The other teams had a kaugh, a few drinks and promises to catch up again soon.
But there was none of that among the angry bears.

Any kind of trophy whatsoever and this mob just crumble ?? get that right in to my veins , yet another trophy for the mighty Glasgow Celtic trophy cabinet , big Charlie Mulgrew celebrations in front of the angry bears was pure bliss ??? lads to the whole squad what a come back, sometimes you just need to always look on the bright side of life
They really are a desperate lot…were they actually going to add a victory to their Ibrox trophy count? “whit are we like,eh?”
Daily Record were choking for them to win it , 4 page pull out special tomorrow if they had done
and I’m not joking
Raging…………..Aye.
Oh the blue rooms are bare………..
Was never a fan of Charlie mulgrew but I have to hold my hand up and say he played a blinder yesterday.
Jeez …2 grand for an outright win bonus ! Mrs Ferguson will be disappointed …she being in charge of the dough in that household !
Always good to beat a 14 year 37 day old (as of today) club called Sevco !
Still Loser’s.
